Economic Development Committee discusses Town Center parking project.

Economic Development Committee · Meeting of March 9, 2026

WILBRAHAM — The Wilbraham Economic Development Committee discussed the Town Center Access Project, a proposed downtown parking and traffic-safety initiative. Vice Chair Jeffrey Smith outlined the project's decade-long history, traffic-calming measures, and plans to replace any removed green space; the committee scheduled a public information event for April 1 at 6 p.m. at the Senior Center, pending confirmation from the Traffic Safety Committee, engineer VHB, and Town Engineer. Community members raised concerns about traffic safety, green space preservation, and parking justification; Chair Christal Russo has engaged the Sugar Chalet owner and Smith will coordinate with the veterans' agent.

Clerk Brittany Meece will draft an outreach survey, and Smith plans to post the latest draft proposal online this week.
