Open Space Committee updates trail maps, approves hats and business cards.

Open Space and Recreation Plan Committee · Meeting of May 26, 2026

WILBRAHAM — Open Space and Recreation Plan Committee approves hats and business cards for members working trails. Committee members Bill Michels and Joe Calabrese reported that updated trail maps with QR codes and identification numbers are ready for kiosks at Thayer Brook, Crane Hill, and Rice's Hill, with webpages revised to separate connected trails and add accessibility information. The committee voted unanimously to defer rogue-trail enforcement until fall, when members plan to post "Do Not Enter" signs and fill trails with downed branches to discourage unauthorized entry while seeking assistance from the bike community and Conservation Commission.

Committee member Steve Lawson, after 27 years of service, resigned over uncertainty about full-time residency requirements.
