Open Space panel approves May field trip, establishes Gmail group.

WILBRAHAM — The Wilbraham Open Space and Recreation Plan Committee unanimously approved prior minutes and advanced trail initiatives including branded merchandise and a new Gmail account. Committee members discussed land acquisition criteria focused on properties adjacent to existing trails, those containing fragile habitats, or filling gaps in town recreation. The Nipmuc Tribe's Andre Gaines praised the White Cedar Swamp as the finest he has surveyed and will return to continue preservation work.
Bill Michels will secure final approvals on three trail kiosks and investigate Sawmill trail ADA compliance. The committee scheduled its May 26 field trip meeting for 6 p.m. at the Community Garden gazebo.
